    This is incorrect information. The digestion does not stop all together in the night ititss just not as effective as it is during day time. Because of this the food does not get digested fully and since you are not performing any activity other than sleeping more calories are converted into sugar and fat than what would normally happen in day time. That is why it is good to eat before sun set which is healthy physically and mentally.
